The Department of Agriculture & Cooperation (DAC), Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India launched Kisan Call Centers on January 21, 2004 across the country to deliver extension services to the farming community.
The purpose of these call centers is to respond to issues raised by farmers, instantly, in the local language. There are call centers for every state which are expected to handle traffic from any part of the country. Queries related to agriculture and allied sectors are being addressed through these call centers

This call center number will be available for help any time in 22 regional languages which will help formers to know how to grow crops depending on the type of soil, monsoon condition, loan arrangement with different Banker,pesticides and insecticides to use according to the season.
This is a toll free number and they can call from their mobile as well at free of cost.

Kissan Call Centres gaining popularity in India

NEW DELHI: With over 55 lakh calls received till October this year since its launch,Kissan Call Centres (KCC),established to provide instant farm solutions,are increasingly gaining popularity among Indian farmers.Launched in 2004,at present 25 KCC (Kissan Call Centres) are functioning at different locations across the country.According to official data,these centres received 55.75 lakh calls till October 2010.The Department of Agriculture & Cooperation (DAC) under the agriculture ministry,had launched KCC service in January 2004 to deliver extension services to the farming community.The purpose of these call centres is to instantly respond to the issues raised by farmers and provide them solution in their local language.An evaluation study of KCC conducted by Hyderabadbased Administrative Staff College,which submitted its report in July 2007,had pointed that the current level of participation of women farmers was negligible.

  2. It's good to help farmers but it's better to don't help than wastage of their time.

    I am trying to reach at Kisan help toll free no 1800 180 1551, it's ringing but no one attends call.

    Myself Moxith ,from coorg, Am planning to do herbal plants, But am worried about the which plant to grow and market who will buy .I have 12 acres of land which has 24 hours water facility and its situated in cool place.Kindly advice me on this,,,,,,
